The Standard

What is ATA Spec 2000?

ATA Spec 2000 is the international aviation industry standard for electronic data exchange between airlines, manufacturers and maintenance providers (MRO). Published by the ATA (Air Transport Association), it defines the formats and protocols for aircraft component identification and traceability.

RFID in aviation

Chapter 9-5 of the ATA Spec 2000 standard specifies how to use passive UHF RFID tags to identify aviation parts and equipment. Each tag stores encoded data in EPC and USER memory following a defined structure that includes part number, serial number, manufacturer and maintenance data.

Why it matters

Adopting RFID under ATA Spec 2000 allows airlines and MRO shops to automate inventories, reduce part identification errors and meet regulatory traceability requirements. Equipment such as life vests, oxygen generators and rotable components directly benefit from this technology.

Built-in compliance

Our platform implements the ATA Spec 2000 standard natively: automatic data encoding and decoding, real-time structure validation and full support for the fields defined in the specification. You don't need to be an expert in the standard to work with it.

Hardware

Our equipment

We offer our own RFID readers and tags compatible with the ATA Spec 2000 standard, ready to use with our platform.
